Guess you forgot to mention that you are using the *HOME* version of
Windows XP. If you want the NT Backup program, it is on the
installation CD (under a ValueAdd subdirectory, I think).

The NT Backup programs is a crippled version of a 3rd party product
(used to be Veritas Backup Exec but they sold it off to Stomp who calls
it Backup MyPC). It will not do compression so your backups will occupy
as much space as the files you backed up. It can turn on *hardware*
compression only if the [tape] device supports it. NT Backup also has
limitations in spanning media. It will not span a backup across
multiple CDs, Zip disks, or other removable media (but I thought it
would span across tapes).

If this is XP Pro, you should find it in All Programs - Accessories -
System Tools (if not, search the hard disk for NTBackup.exe which should
be in windows\system32)

If it is XP Home, and you have a retail Full CD (many of the OEM ones do
not include it), look for the ntbackup.msi file in the CD
Valueadd\MSOFT\Backup folder, right click it and take Install
