We recently lost our hard drive and had to reinstall
windows xp on the new one. Now it is showing there is no
audio despite the fact it worked perfectly before. It
says there are no mixer devices availible. When I check
in the control panel under sounds and audio devices, it
says that there is no audio device under the volume and
audio headers, but under hardware, it says all the
devices are working. I've tried updating the driver, but
it says I have the newest ones. I've downloaded all the
updates I could find and have no idea what to do. The
only reference to a similar problem was for Gateway
computers, but I have a Vision PC. Can anyone help?

I just wanted to post I think I may have found the
problem and am trying to resolve it, but could still use
advice. It's showing under other devices in the device
manager that the mulitmedia audio controller and the PCI
simple communications controller are problematic. Not
sure what's wrong, but trying to find out.

Never mind, problem solved :D. I guess it's best to just
play around while waiting for help, lol!!
