No Audio on VX3000 after update to Windows Live Messenger 2009

Before I updated to windows live messenger 2009 the audio worked perfect on
my Windows VX3000 web cam. Once I updated to microsoft live messenger 2009
(build 14.0.8064.206) I nolonger hear or can be heard when on a video call.
The video works correctly just no audio. The icon for the level of the
microphone is dim and will not adjust. When I run video setup the aduio
works correctly, but when I make a video call there is no audio.

The audio works on ALL! other software I run.

Every thing worked correctly before the update! The update I loaded was
wlsetup-custom.exe

The person I video call is using windows live 2008 with a windows VX3000 also.

Any one know how to remove windows live messenger 2009 so I can load my
older software back?
