No Address bar in 'My Computer'

D

Don

To do a certain thing, I was instructed to type info into
the address bar in 'My Computer'. (Right clicking My
Computer in XP Home). The 'My Computer' address bar is
checked in 'My Computer' drop down menu. I unchecked and
rechecked it to no avail. The address bars show in IE6 and
Windows Explorer. At the far upper right hand corner, a
grayed out square has the word 'Address' in it, but
clicking it does nothing at all.

Any help would certainly be appreciated.

Right click on the word address(or the toolbar itself) and click lock to
toolbar to clear the checl mark and lock. Then left click, hold on the word
address and drag it to another part of the toolbar, so you can see it.
BTW - the address bar in my computer, explorer, and internet explorer is the
same thing. You can type that info in any one of these.

Don, you should be able to select View and Toolbars -
select Address Bar
