no access in a cd rom when the media is a blank cd

hello i have a new laptop
i use WINDOWS XP home
the cd worked perfect

but the last days

i have a problem with the cd-dvd-r w
when i insert a blank cd or dvd the system recognize the media
but when i double click the media in the "my computer" window
appears a message that there is a false in access

when i use a cd with data i read them with no problem
+ i use the nero as well with no problem

How are you going to read an empty CD? A better question is why would you
want to?
Put something on it, THEN access it.
 
This is (May be) because you have 2 optical drives,e.g. a Cd & a Dvd drive.
Only one drive can be set for recording by dragging or Copy/Paste. And this
is the reason anyone wants to enter a empty drive.
Try this :-
1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Right click your Cd or Dvd rom and choose properties.
3. Go to recording tab.
4. Check the option "Enable Cd recording on this drive".
This will solve your problem.
But now you can't access an empty disk in other drive(If you have one)
