no able to work with windows-update after install active x

I am working within a major company and we have corp
license for XP from Microsoft.

I wanted to try the anti-spyware software, but now
windowsupdate gives the error 0x80072EFD ? I am not able
to proceed, also when I installed the anti-spyware it
said the my key was not valid (which it is as its our
valid license key). Please help !

I'm not sure where you are in the process now.

You wished to download Microsoft antispyware, but you weren't able to pass
the "genuine windows" assurance program. When this test fails, you should
get a report showing what the issue is. Pass that report up to your network
administrators.

So--you were able to download anyway, correct? passing validation is not
required for this download.

Subsequent to installing Microsoft Antispyware, you went to Windows Update,
and got the error you mention.

This error is not necessarily connected to Microsoft Antispyware--I haven't
seen it in a couple dozen machines I worked with yesterday, but I can
imagine that it could be associated with a bug of some sort in Microsoft
Antispyware.
