No 'A' Drive listed

I have recently bought a new computer running windows XP
Professional, however I have just realised my 'A' drive
is not listed in My Computer, the hardware properties
tells me that it's installed and working properly and the
troubleshoot isn't much help, any ideas on how I can
access it?

Cliff, rt click on MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager.
See if it's there and if a yellow mark is
next to it. Make sure that the red stripe on the ribbon cable is aligned
with Pin1 on the drive and motherboard connector.
and the power connector is on securely.
