NNTP error???

W

William Lurie

I can now document a glitch (to me a bug) which I reported before but
could not document. I'm starting a new thread because this does not
relate (as far as I can see) to the request in the original message.

I composed the message below, and when I tried to send it, I got the
following two error panes:

http://bellsouthpwp.net/b/i/billurie/frame.jpg

http://bellsouthpwp.net/b/i/billurie/frame1.jpg

I then saved it in Drafts....Local Folders, and later opened the
message from Draft folder and it Sent with no trouble.

I don't know if I'll have to use the same subterfuge (workaround) with
this one. (Yes I did).

Instead of using "news.eternal.september.org" for the
"microsoft.public.windowsxp.general" newsgroup - why not, instead, use the
server :

nntp.aioe.org

...as this is the main host for the orphaned microsoft newsgroups.

See if you do a little better after the change...

What is a "main host" in the scheme of NNTP?
