NK2 file max size or autodeletion feature

Hie all,

I have a problem with one of my IT clients whose autocomplete feature doens
show some names she used to have before. Using utilities that allow me to see
the nk2 file contents, I can confirm that the names arent there anymore. She
has been experienceing this frequently of late like probably a different name
disapperaing every few days. When she sends the person an email it will go
back into the cache file as it should but someone else's name will disappear
later.

This leads me to think that there is a maximum size to the nk2 file and now
its cyclically deleting name/overwriting entries by age or whatever criteria
it uses. Is my assumption correct and if so how do I increased the default
maximum size of the cache file? (It currently has 368 entries and is abt
367Kb in size)

Thanking, all who will assist, in advance, I am

Hie Roady,

Thanks for your response. As indicated, my client only has 368 entries in
her cache, way less than the 1000 you mention. I had seen this max in some
article but thought maybe it had been reduced??? to a lower value. I used the
ingressor util to get the 368 figure and it didnt tell me thatthe file was
corrupt or anything to that effect. It just deletes some of the file name and
I dont know how and what criteria it uses as the most recent dletion belonged
to this lady's boss (whom she sends at leat 10 emails a day)??

Any more light you can shed?

Note that is just a cache. The maximum amount of entries is 1000. You cannot
increase the file size. If you want to check if the file is damaged see;

They should be removed on a first in first out basis.

You can try resetting the file by renaming it to .old. If it doesn't get
recreated you'll have to recreate the mail profile;
