I haven't heard an official date yet, but since it's not in Beta yet, next
year would seem reasonable. Of course, they could decide to wait until after
Longhorn's released.

It's safer to not speculate, but stick with the industry-standard "Real Soon
Now" -- which translates to "in the lifetime of someone now living, unless
something goes wrong".

In a previous incarnation as a mainframer (not with Microsoft, of course), I
have seen release dates changed and even products cancelled the day before
the release was scheduled to be announced. The company will have a schedule,
but it is subject to significant revision based on the results of internal
and field testing.
