Next MS OS "Panorama"

MS lets call the next OS "Panorama" and release it in
2010, that is just before Xmas 2009, say 1st November
2009. Box it as a 2010 product.

Hello MS CEO, just my humble suggestion, totally your call.

This Vista newsgroup is very quite as it is betwwen public
beta releases, the public are holding their breath for RC1,
so lets go down memory lane.....

Unix, BSD, Linux

Read and learn you DOS and Windows nerds !

Then tell the MS CEO and Board to open their eyes, and
commercialize a full Unix (BSD, Linux) type OS, the world
deserves it.

If MS doesn't do it, eventually some one else will.

Also

All homebrew nerds, if student Linus Torvalds can do it so
can you, so come-on invent a better OS.

Linux invented;

"1991 Linux is introduced by Linus Torvalds, a student in
Finland. Who post to the comp.os.minix newsgroup with
the words:

Hello everybody out there using minix -

I'm doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won't be
big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones."
source:computerhope.

The First "Computer";

"1941 German Konrad Zuse finishes the Z3, a fully
operational calculating machine.
1943 ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and
Computer), the first general-purpose electronic digital
calculator begins to be constructed. This computer by
most is considered to be the first electronic computer."

Those old horrible yet powerful languages, I remember
them well.

"1960 The Common Business-Oriented Language
(COBOL) programming language is invented.

1961 The programming language FORTRAN IV is
created." source: computerhope
http://www.computerhope.com/history/196080.htm

MS licences Unix;

"1980 Microsoft licenses Unix and starts to develop a PC
version, XENIX. " source:computerhope
http://www.computerhope.com/history/198090.htm

MS releases DOS 1.0;

"1981 MS-DOS 1.0 was released August, 1981."
source: computerhope
http://www.computerhope.com/history/198090.htm

MS releases Windows GUI (for DOS);

"1983 Microsoft Windows was announced November,
1983" source:computerhope
http://www.computerhope.com/history/198090.htm

MS Releases Windows OS 1.0;

"1985 Microsoft Windows 1.0 is introduced in November,
1985 and is initially sold for $100.00."
source:computerhope
http://www.computerhope.com/history/198090.htm

And Windows computer history is all down hill from then
on.....LOL

Oops ! I knew I should have bought those shares, when
billy told me....LOL

"1986 Microsoft is listed on the New York Stock Exchange
selling shares to the public at $21 each, making Bill Gates
one of the world’s youngest billionaires."
