Newsreader

I'm using Office 2003 on a WinXP machine. Right now the newsreader function
is not available on Outlook and I wanted to install it. OL help tells me
that I have to install it using 'Add or Remove Buttons': However, under the
Categories:Go I do not seem to have 'News' as a command. What am I missing
here?

There are a few thousand posts in this group that answer this question. Did
you look?
To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then click the No
button.

Russ,

I understand your frustration if I have asked a question that has been often
answered in the newsgroup. I would much prefer to search the newsgroup for
an instant answer than having to wait until (and if) someone kindly answers
my question(s).

However, when I search the newsgroup (from OL2003, naturally), it only shows
me those messages that are currently cached in the PC. How can one get
around this and search the full history of the entire newsgroup, so that I
can search for answers to my problem in older messages as well? Is there
some kind of a microsoft.public.outlook newsgroup archive somewhere?

Thanks for your continued patience!
