How do i get the Newsgroups within Outlook Express to only show the 'active'
messages , each time i open up newsgroups about 75% of them say "Message is
no longer available on the server". I want rid of these messages and only
leave the ones that are active.

I have tried 'Synchronise settings' but it doesn't seem to do what i want it
to.

Cheers

This might help...

In Outlook Express, select Tools>Options>Maintenance>Clean Up Now

Under the "View" menu choose "Current View" then customize current view. One
option here is show only messages x days old.

What I do to keep everything I look at current is make 2 settings.

1. go to View, the Current View, then Check Mark 4th item down - Hide read &
ignored messages.

2. go to Tools, Options, Read, & then go down to News and check to mark all
messages read when exiting.

That gives you only current postings since the last time you viewed the
newsgroup. If you want to go back and see the whole thread of a
conversation, you can always go back to View, Current View and click the 1st
item - View ALL
