News with outlook 2003

I'm using Outlook 2003 on windows XP professional.
I had set it up to view newsgroups (NNTP) by customizing buttons on the
toolbar. It worked for a while but then the news button just disappeared. It
no longer appears in the customize commands list, so I can't even re-add it.

Close Outlook - go to control panel, internet options. Under programs, make
Outlook Express your default for news. Open Outlook and see if the command
is back under the Go menu options. If not, use the customize command and
reset your toolbar. Use the command to open the Outlook Newsreader (OE
without mail) and when it asks to become the default for news, check the box
"do not ask me again" and check No.
