News Rules

I have news rules set to delete messages that were sent more than 2 days
ago. I still have news in my folders that was sent 5 or 6 days ago. I click
on them most days to let the headers refresh, and they are marked as read
when I leave the news folder. Why is it not deleting messages after 2 days?
Can anyone help? Most appreciated.

Hi Kevin,

You must apply the rule, and it will delete the older posts. It will not be
done automatically. Click tools/message rules/news, select the rule, then
click "apply now". Select the newsgroup or server using the browse button,
then click "apply now".
