News group posting error

Paul H

When I try to post to the "alt-windows7.general" newsgroup under "aiog.org"
I get the following error. I was able to post until a couple weeks ago.

"Windows Mail could not post your message. Subject 'Can't post a "reply
group"', Account: 'aioe.org', Server: 'aioe.org', Protocol: NNTP, Server
Response: '441 Too many errors for your IP', Port: 119, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 441, Error Number: 0x800CCCA9"

How can I correct this error? TIA, Paul

....and you're asking this in a Vista newsgroup, why?
Try temporarily turning off Avast and see if you can post. If not, your
problem is with aiog.org, a FREE, badly maintained service.

Thee name of the newsgroup above is wrong (perhaps my fault; you may
have copied it from the erroneous posting I made of it a couple of
times). Change the hyphen to a dot.

Or did you have it right and the above is just a typo (as mine was)?

You should probably ask at the newsservers webpage, not in a Vista
newsgroup, as this is not a Vista problem.

You should probably ask at the newsservers webpage, not in a Vista
newsgroup, as this is not a Vista problem.

If he got the referral to that group here then it would be the
sensible place to post a followup question.

I should have mentioned that I am using Windows Mail, a Vista application,
on my W7 laptop. Thus, my query in a Vista newsgroup. And, yes, I meant a
period, not a dash in the newsgroup name. I only use this badly maintained
newsgroup because I do not know of another heavily used W7 newsgroup.

However, your problem isn't with Windows Mail, its with the news server
in question. Have you tried going to their website to see if they have a
support forum?

aioe (not aiog) has been flakey lately (in the last 24 to 48 hrs). It's
working fine for me now, so it might work for you too. You can also try
alt.os.windows-7 group.

aioe is a one-man operation and is sometimes down for a day or two. I
find it a reasonable free news server that satisfies my needs for two
alt groups that I follow.

Be patient and try again in a day or so when you get this error message.
aioe seems to be working right now.
