Newly installed software keeps reinstalling itself after I run it.

Any software that I have installed within the past month even when I install
it keeps coming up with the MSI "Windows is configuring the Installation of
Microsoft Word 2007" etc. Then I need to wait a minute for it to finish and
for the thing to load up which is a real pain.

All these programs that I have installed recently are having this same thing:

Skype
Itunes
Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007
Google Earth Pro
Guitar Pro

It all seemed to have coincided around the same time I suffered that problem
with explorer.exe failing to load during login. But I fixed that in the
registry as the path for that was corrupt.

I have scanned using Mcafee and Windows Malicious Software removal tool but
the problem is persisting.

Is it a corruption in the registry again??

What action should I take

hmmm

I tried installing that One Care thing but , once I install it and then the
button changes to "Launch Scan" , it then goes back to Install. I allowed the
active X control. So its not being prevented from being launched. I tried
this 4 times and it still keeps reiterating the same thing.
