Newest Spybot version-glitch?

Laptop using XP Pro OS -
DSL modem/ 4 port D-Link router wireless network system.

About thursday or friday of last week, i downloaded & installed the
newest version of Spybot S & D.
As suggested by the webmaster, before installing the new version, i
turned-off the old active protection(s) & then uninstalled the older
version.

I completed the new version install & downloaded the latest updates &
activated all new protections....everything went fine!
However, i noticed, a day later, that my remote printing ability from
my laptop to my office's network printer quit functioning.
BTW- The only new program that was installed and/or uninstalled during
the past couple of weeks, was this Spybot program.

After 3 days of diagnostics, i & 2 computer experts, failed to find the
problem.

Finally, to fix it, we had to do a system "Restore" back to the Monday,
previous to the install.
Anyone else come across this (likely) glitch?

Did you download v1.3 or the latest Beta version?

Did you download v1.3 or the latest Beta version?

Yes, i had Spybot S & D v1.2 then went to v1.3.
Has no one else experienced this same problem? please advise.
