[newbie] SQLite + VB.Net 2005?

Hello

I just started learning VB.Net with "The Book of Visual Basic 2005",
and would like to use SQLite, but I don't know where to start, as the
wrappers I found usually only have C# samples, and assume the reader
knows how to install those wrappers... which I dont, yet :-/

Would someone have a step-by-step procedure on how to get from a
working VisualStudio 2005 to a working SQLite access?

I believe the .NET wraper for SQLite hasn't been updated in a while.

Why not use SQL Server Compact Edition instead?

This one is under active development, and seems to work in a VB.Net
test project: http://sqlite.phxsoftware.com
