I would like to learn VB.NET and I would appreciate hearing about books
people here found well-written and useful. I have written HP Basic,
VB3-6, PHP, ASP, some C++ DLLs, but I know absolutely nothing about
..NET. I would like a book that gets me up to speed on what .NET is about
generally, and then gets me up to speed with VB.NET. I just bought a
Windows 7 machine and installed VS2012 and a ton of help files, so I
think I have everything I need to start doing tutorials and building a
sound foundation. I plan on learning C# after I'm comfortable with
VB.NET and .NET in general but right now I'm an abject beginner.
TIA,
Mike
