Newbie question?? or just plain stupid.. PLEASE HELP ME

My DVD/CD-ROM drive does not recognize any dvd's it ask's
me to insert a disc..... and its already in. i think i
need a decoder but i cant find a d*mn site that i can
download one. Any sujestions or am i just too damn stupid
to figure this out??
 
find your dvd drive.
right click -> properties
-> autoplay tab
make setting here.
refer to help for help with settings
done
