Newbie Question - Insert Chart Compenet in Frontpage 2000

Nicola

Hi,

I use Dreamweaver MX 2004 to manage my intranet, however I need to add
a graph based on Excel information on my home page. I haven't found a
way of doing this in Dreamweaver (I am fairly new to this) and as most
of the staff are still on Office 2000 was going to use the Insert,
Office Chart Component function within FP 2000 to create the chart and
then copy the code in to Dremweaver. I can do this with Frontpage 2003
and it inserts the chart fine but most poeple cannot see it as they
are on Office 2000.

Being new at FP 2000 when I go to Insert, Compenent, Office Chart I
get the following error message:

"There are no data sources on this pagefrom which to create a chart.
When you click OK the wizard will close. To create a chart you must
first place one or moredata controls on this web page"

How do I do this?, the chart I want to create is the simplest kind, a
target and where we are against the target.

Please can someone help me with this as I am pulling my hair out.

Thanks
Nicola

I don't know if it will fit your needs, but you can save Excel spreadsheets
(entire workbook or individual worksheets) as html. Call that html page and
voila, info displayed. Should probably put a "Back" or "Home" link on the
page somewhere to allow users to return to your home page.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the suggestion but we have tried and it doesn't work how we
want it to. We want to our users to view the graph but only one person
to change the values as we get closer to our targets and this way won't
do that.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks anyway

Nicola,
I am assuming that you want the ability to have the
chart change as the values in the spreadsheet change. If
this is what you want then have one of your Excel gurus
write a macro so that the chart is saved as html whenever
the values are changed. I don' know if anyone in the NG can
help you with that, but I am sure someone in and Excel NG
could
