I'm quite confused with all the choice around me and don't know what to do.

I am looking for a new pc, however, I don't know what model etc to go for.

These are the ones i initially i had in mind:

Its a HP from PC world:

19" TFT monitor
Intel core 2 duo E6420
2.13GHz
1066 MHZ FSB
4MB Cache
400 GB Hard Drive
256MB ATI Radeon x1550 graphics card
8 in 1 media card reader
6 usb 1 firewire
with genuine Windows Vista Premium

Its about £650

Then these two from Dell:

http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/desktops_better?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs

Priced £589 and £689

And finally this:

http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=228399

It looked like the one, but then i was told Mesh are crap at customer service etc. I've heard the same about PC world.

Please help.

Well you've come to the right place BourneSupreme ;)

What kind of PC are you looking for (Gaming? etc), and may I ask what budget you have?

The budget is between £600-700. I'm looking for massive memory, multi-tasking, multiple apps, downloading music files.

I very rarely use gaming

Thats a good budget for a non gaming system, do you need a monitor, mouse, kb and speakers etc?

Buy off the shelf or build your own?

Need an OS?

without a fancy pants video card, you can put lot more into other components :)

Looking for windows Vista premium..might as well get the latest OS.

You're right alf, so looking to power up.

I will be looking to maybe start programming and hostign applications so something that will not slow up my pc performance

I just wondered whether you had thought of taking a look at Novatech? They have a good range of systems, ranging from bare-bones to ready-built, and they have an IM facility on their website so that you can, if you wish, chat with either customer services, or sales staff, etc. before deciding. I recently purchased a PC, monitor, keyboard/mouse from them and have no complaints - they delivered next day too. :thumb:
