I am new to this, and I need some major help. My husband formatted the
puter, we had xp professional on it, after he formatted it we tried putting
in the 6 disks in for xp home edition, it says there is a file missing, or
corrupt. Now that i have the disks out, it keeps telling me to remove disks
or other media.....i am at a loss..i have been trying for two days to fix.
can anyone give me some insight, or should i just break down and bring it to
a shop?

I also want to add the when we do run the 6 boot disks, it gets to the last
disk and asks to insert the xp home edition cd into the cd drive, i do that,
and it is like its not reading either drives, and does nothing, that is how i
got the errors when restarting the puter, and there are no disks in there.

If I am not too late. Try this before spending at least $40 or more.
Change BIOS to start from the CD-Rom drive, probably "D" drive so you can
boot from a CD. Your XP Home CD is a bootable disk. You may be able to do
a clean install of XP. The 6 disks, probably floppies, are only for loading
your
system files and would only boot you to the Command (DOS) Prompt.
