Newbie has question RE: Desktop Appearence

I have downloaded a screensaver to my desktop and when my
icons display they display WITHOUT a colored box framing
the icon name. My roomate, the other user this computer
has downloaded a screensaver but it displays WITH a
colored box framing the icon name.

I have compared settings in the Display function of the
Control Panel. The settings appear the same but I cannot
get the icons to display on her desktop WITHOUT the
colored box. Can anyone tell me what I am missing or
doing wrong and how I can fix it??

"Use drop shadows for icon labels" in System properties » advanced » Performance » Settings » tick the box.
