newbie: error 1005 in TD

J

Jack Dolby

I have had TD running for over a year, working with it when I had a chance.
Have several images I build for an embedded box, a dual-boot xpe on my dev
machine and for a VPC "machine."

These all built well as recently as about two weeks ago.

Tried to build an image yesterday and for most of the files that TD tries to
add, I get an error 1005: file not found.

This occurs on any configuration that I load.

I shutdown sql and restored my Mantis/repository files. No help.

No ref to "1005" in help.

SP2 has not been installed yet.

My Mantis and repository are on a different drive but sql points to the
Mantis files at the correct location for my setup.

Any clues?

thanks,

jack

Have you changed anyting relative to MSDE in prep for SP2? There is a fix
for MSDE, that asks you to change passwords, ETC... sounds like you may have
a permission error in the DB when TD tries to access it. I woudl check that,
or possibly remove and reinstall MSDE.

JC, thanks for the idea...

I found the problem late yestrday but have no clue how it "happened."

I went into Component Database Manager (had not been in there for a year)
and found all my repositories had a path like:

\\<myComputerName>\Repositories

Rather than something like "myDriveLetter:\Windows Embedded
Data\Repositories".

I have no idea what hiccupped, but editing the paths for all repositories
fixed the problem.
