New XP Prof install over Millenium

I just installed XP Prof over Millenium. When I click on an icon or menu my
system will randomly reboot. Upon a reboot XP wants to run a consistency
check each time. Could this possibly be a display driver problem? What
causes the consistenc check time on a boot up?

Thanks.
 
all i know is that it is better to do a fresh install
instead of 'upgrading windows(crash) 'me'
