New XP O.S, no sound . or printer.

Says there is no driver, tried loading drivers from
website, same as the ones in XP, still no sound.I have
been through the simplified help section in XP to no
change. Anyone have any ideas.
Also, My print drivers are not working for a canon s520,
same story.
I have tried reloading XP to no change.
So far I am a little disapointed with this OS.
Any help would be apprieciated.

With the printer, you must install the software BEFORE connecting the
printer.... Canon printers are particularly fussy about this.

Now you've done it the wrong way round, you must uninstall and then
reinstall:

As for your soundcard drivers, without knowing which particular soundcard or
built in soundchip you have on your motherboard, it's impossible to point
you in the correct direction for drivers. First place to check is the
website of your PC manufacturer.
