new windows messenger??

Hi.. I was just wondering if there will be a new windows
messenger... I really like msn messenger 6.0, but I like
how well windows messenger is incorporated in XP. Does
anyone know if MS plans to release a 6.0 update to
windows messenger?? It would be great if they did.. as I
really don't want to have MSN and Windows messengers both
on my machine at once!

There is a "new" Windows Messenger (5.x) in progress (see

however, it does not solve your problem.
