New windows freezes IE6

Hi,

I have a annoying problem, whenever I open to link to a new window or a pop
up is called, IE freezes. I have all IE & Windows updates installed along
with the latest ATI drivers and Direct X. I am using WinXP Pro.

Any help appreciated,

Sam, I have the same problem. I thought I'd found the answer when I removed the 'bridge' that was automatically installed (to connect my firewire and ethernet cards) when I recently upgraded to XP Pro (from 98SE). Not only did removing the bridge not fix the problem, it cured my of computer of all internet connectivity whatsoever. So I put it back the way it was

Does IE6 eventually continue, and load pages? Mine does, but it sits in a "not responding" state for the first 2-3 minutes after starting it
