Yesterday, I had a machine that developed an odd problem,
where the 'Open in new window' command got a new window
that didn't load the page. If you pressed Stop then
Refresh it worked. I tried reinstalling IE6 and ended up
with a new problem, where attempting to use the Search
function brought 'Error 34: Invalid RPC call' and crashed
IE6. Windows Update also stopped working at this point.
Anything I did just seemed to make it worse, until I just
reinstalled the OS - often the only solution to these
problems because IE is so embedded. Can anyone shed any
light on what happened so I can avoid this in future?
