I had a computer crash running XP-pro and office 2003. Outlook 2003 worked
fine on that machine. I replaced the entire machine with a beast running
Vista-64bit and now outlook doesn't work anymore. Old account settings work
fine on another XP machine (laptop) but I get error messages that server was
found but no response, can't log on to incoming POP3 server or to outgoing
SMTP server. I can sign into the servers using the mediacom webmail via
browser or from laptop running XP-pro but new vista machine gives errors.
Tried detect and repair, tried deleting account and re-setting it up all to
no avail!

what exactly do the error messages say?
when you say the old setting work on another machine does this mean you use
windows easy transfer to move outlook?
