New To Vista - Have 64-bit Home Premium - Can Not Access Backup Da

Hi...

On my new PC, there are two users - ADMINISTRATOR and OWNER. Both are set
with ADMIN privileges, and I use OWNER. I put my old hard drive in an
enclosure to be an external hard drive so I can easily copy data from the old
PC. HOWEVER, I keep running into "you are not the owner" denied access to
most of this drive - even some folders on the new PC. I thought with admin
privileges I would have all access to everything, which is what I want and
need. There HAS to be an easier way to grant access than to have to go to
each directory and go through the motions.

In short, as "OWNER" (w/admin authority, but apparently, that's not enough)
- how do I get full access to EVERYTHING on my own PC? This is really
baffling me.

Thanks...

Andy

Try to take ownership all data in your old hard drive.

how to take ownership:
- right click your data that you want to take ownership, choose properties.
- click security tab.
- in security tab, find and click advanced button.
- click owner tab
- in owner tab, make sure that your account ( OWNER ) in "Current owner of
this item", if not your account in the box, change it to your account ( OWNER
).

good luck,
samuel
