New to remote - help on getting started?

Hello:

I have a situation where my wife needs to be able to
access some programs and files at her company's office
from home. In the past, her mom has backed up the files
and brought them home. My wife updated the files (quick
books) and then backed up the new version. Her mom then
took them back to the office in the morning and restored
them. Not a very efficient way.

Could you point me in the direction of some articles to
get us going on remote desktop? Will this solve our
problem? I searched the Windows home page for "Remote
Desktop Getting Started" but di dnot find an article that
really helped.

Also, one computer (the one at home) is on Windows XP home
edition. The one at the office is on Windows 98. Would
we need to upgrade either or both?

Thanks for your help!!!

Rick

Remote Desktop will only work with Windows XP Pro version. Not Windows XP Home version. Windows XP Home would be able to use Remote Assistance. If you upgrade to Windows XP Pro, it will have to be the one at the office. The PC you have at home can be Windows 98 on up to the most current. The downstream computers have an easy to install software program you can install from the Windows XP Pro CD, or can be downloaded from Microsoft.
