Cut, coping, and pasting are all very simple tasks in all
versions of Windows. You can simply use shortcut keys to
accomplish all of these things. To copy press CTRL + C,
to paste, press CTRL + V and to cut press CTRL + X.
You may find many programs that have available toolbar
buttons where you can accomplish these very task without
using these shortcut methods that I've mentioned. Open
Microsoft Word, WordPad or etc. You'll find them
available in many applications.
To copy drag from left to right with the cursor of the
mouse and select the text, the copy the text. Once it
copied, it's available to the Windows clipboard where you
can paste it into another section of the document. You
can cut, it's similar to coping except it doesn't leave
the text. It completely takes the text and sends it to
the clipboard where it can be pasted.
In general, if you copy the text "Hello, this is Chris"
it will send it to the clipboard. However, if you
select "Hello, this is Tom" it will overwrite what was
copied. Word 2000 is the only exception where you can
copy and paste up to 12 items.
I hope this helps.
