I got a message the other night wanting permission to
install the new home page (template?) for Microsoft
Internet Explorer. I said YES
Since then I have trouble getting my computer to
open without all kinds of problems. It goes dead as soon
as I want to use the mouse or call up a program.
I can get into SafeMode. Shall I delete Microsoft
Internet Explorer 6SPI and Internet Tools?
And then how do I get the use of the old Internet Explorer
that had worked ok on my computer before the other night.
I can not get onto AOL now either.
Any advice? I see that it costs $35 to make a telephone
to Microsoft Internet. They are the ones who caused my
problem but I have to pay them to undo the situation.
Nt enauk address us:
(e-mail address removed) (Luckily I have another computer (this
one) that allows me to get on AOL.
Thanks, everyone!

And so you likely installed SpyWare/Scumware ... and NOT from Microsoft.

Not a Microsoft problem, except that IE is vulnerable to this kind of crap.
Install and run SpyBot and Ad-Aware to identify and fix your problems. You
may find that you have more than one. Then use SpyBot and Ad-Aware once a
week, religiously, just as you update your antivirus software once a week,
religiously (you do, don't you?).

BTW, a recent survey determined that 30% of PCs had SpyWare installed on
them, so you're not alone.

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to

Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder

If nothing there helps, please post back to this thread.
