new sort of quick launch?

I bumped my keyboard and/or mouse, and a super-sized icon appeared on my
desktop, in the form of a circle, divided like a pie. Clicking on one segment
starts Word, on another starts Excel, etc. Click on the center, it minimizes,
right click anywhere on the desktop, and it re-appears. It is always on top,
and won't go away. Right-click now won't do anything except bring up this
supericon. What is it? How do I get rid of it? If I decide I want it back
(ugh!) how would I do that?

if you are using win xp try using system restore
/start/all programs/Accessories/system tools/system restore/.
