New Sony Vaio & XP, how to recognize JVC DV Camera??

Kristine

I am trying to transfer my digital video from my JVC DVL720
digital video camera, using a USB or the old AV in/out
plugs and Windows isn't recognizing that something is
plugged in. I can get the still images from the camera,
but not the video. I am about to throw this thing against
the wall.
I try to import the video using Movie Maker, MovieShop,
neoDVD, and a couple other programs I have and nothing is
working...
How do I do this? Anyone know?
My e-mail is (e-mail address removed).

THANK YOU!!!

Hi Kristine,
Your new Sony "should" have a firewire port - if not you need to get and
install one. Also need a firewire cable with one end fitting the camera and
the other for the firewire port. The standard USB is OK for still images but
for digital video you need the firewire. The JVC software should be fine for
importing the DV stream, and doing some simple editing.

Good Luck

Cole
