Panasonic DV Camera

I have bought a Panasonic NVDS65B

The literature is useless

I connect up using the USB cable provided, but you cannot control the camera via the computer, unlike JVC camera's

The quality in Movie maker II is bitty, and can only be viewed as a small screen. In comparison my B-In-Law has a JVC camera that came with software, and when he maximises any saved video's the quality is like a Video rather than full of blocks

What am I doing wrong??

thanks

The USB cable is for transferring still images (PhotoShots in Panasonic
speak) from digital camcorder to PC. If it's USB1.1 (still the 'norm' on
camcorders) it's also far too slow for video transfer.

You need a firewire cable to transfer video.

Thanks

Buts make me think that the JVC is a better buy, as that is USB and allows you to control the camera functions.
