my daughter has a newer comp then my laptop by about a year both are vista
but hers has some better programs and visual effects how do i get them on my
laptop without deleting them from hers

You can't.
If they are programs that are not part of vista, buy the CDs, or download
them!

AND, if they are Vista features, clearly hers is a better hardware
configured, or different Vista version, computer then yours!

Leave her computer alone!
