New on Movie Maker

I am just starting using Movie maker, I have my JVC digital camara connect to the USB port (Aparently this is only to download pictures). I don't know which kind of devices are required. I Have to buy a vidoe card, Which one
 
You need a firewire card and cable (IEEE-1394)
