New Motherboard

Martin Racette

Hi,

I'm thinking of changing my motherboard (and CPU, and RAM), since my current
motherboard doesn't like Nvidia's 8800GTS under Vista

My current board is an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, with 4Gb of RAM

I would like some suggestion for an new motherboard, that will support at
lease the same amount of RAM, and the 8800GTS

BTW. I already use Vista 64Bit

OK -- that's a 939 board.

First, the max memory support you will get with 939 boards is 4G. If
you are looking to switch to an AM2 board, you'll get more memory
support as well as faster processor options downstream.

That being said. if you want to transfer everything over and not
reinstall, I suspect you'll need to stay with an Nforce4 chipset.

Options would include

Foxcon NF4SK8AA
Abit KN8
Biostar Tforce4SLI

Or some DFI options
