I want to upgrade my motherboard from a 939 board to an AM2+ board.
Needless to say this means a new CPU and memory. Will I still be able
to use my original windows XP? It is a retail upgrade version. From
reading the documentation from Microsoft the answer is NO if I was
using an OEM version but they did not state the rules for a retail
version.

Yes, you can use it IF you also have the original CD for the previous OS (Win
98, 2000...) from which you are "upgrading." You don't have to actually install
the old OS, but you have to insert the CD to complete the installation.
