Hi,

Open Outlook and go to Tools-> Options-> E-mails Options-> Advanced E-mail
Options-> Disable 'Play a sound'.

Tell me if it helps... :)

Thanks,

Mittu

Hello Mittu
Yes, I'm sure this will help. I was hoping there were options for alerts,
like with another mail system, you can choose male or female voices and
various animated characters.
But, I am happy to turn this voice off. I didn't like it

THANK YOU
Rose

Good morning, Mittu
No, this didn't eliminate the voice message
I rebooted
Checked that the option was still not checked
Turned off the machine last night
Still there this morning

I searched Help, but did not see this specific alert
I know in past versions of Outlook I was able to change .wav files for
various sounds for Rules and mail arriving
I have used Office 2003 on at 4 PCs, I have used it with XP on 3 PCs, but
this is the first time I have encountered this voice and I'm stumped

If you can think of anything else, I'd appreciate it

THANK YOU
Rose

How do I turn off or change the voice alert for new mail messages in Outlook
2003.

Control Panel | Sounds and Audio | Sounds | Inbox alert (or similary)

There you can disable/change the sound for incoming mails.

Good morning, Christian
This didn't work
I have not encountered this with any other PC. I have set up 2 others in
the last year with XP and Office 2003. In a different mail program I used a
butler with a male voice and I got a kick out of it. This one is VERY
annoying to me.

Thank you for trying. If you think of anything else. I know the option
must be embedded somewhere but I'm racing to meet a deadline this week and
did not want to put a great deal of time into it - YET

what computer model do you have? someone last week said it was added by a
Toshiba utility (apparently it's not a utility they install on tablets, as
I've never heard it on my Toshiba).

Hi Diane
I should have thought of this since I've used XP and Office 03 on 3 PCs....
Yes, I have a Toshiba Satellite
I will contact Toshiba or look at their documentation
THANK YOU

Let me guess. You have a Toshiba PC. Turn off Toshiba Voice.

I have a Toshiba laptop also and am having the same issue, but cannot find
where to turn off the Toshiba voice (XP SP2, Outlook 2003 SP2).

Thanks.

Probably in Control Panel.
