New letter from contact address layout

Hi! Hoping someone can help. I've created/changed the autotext entry
in word AddressLayout several times, but when I use New Letter from
Contact from within Word, it doesn't seem to affect the outcome. If I
use the addressbook to insert an address from within Word, the layout
changes DO work...?

I'm using office 2003 on windows xp.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers,

I meant when I use it from within OUTLOOK it doesn't work, but from
within WORD it works. <oy>

Assuming you mean New Letter _to_ Contact, abandon that utility.
It never worked well and Microsoft clearly never intended for anyone to use
it. Just insert addresses from Word, although the situation there is not
much better. Modifying AddressLayout will work for documents, but not for
Envelopes or Labels.

In my opinion alone, the Insert Address function makes a mockery of
Microsoft's claim that they have integrated Outlook with the other
applications in Office.
Do not expect things to improve in upcoming versions. Someone, please, prove
me wrong.
