New laptop HP vs Asus

A very happy new year to you all. I am looking for a laptop for around 400£ and came across these two and would appreciate our comments.

Both good spec laptops for under £400

Dell could probably spec up a similar laptop for around the same budget...

Both of those look good for the money - I'm surprised at how powerful machines are these days for that amount of money!

Do you need the laptop to do anything in particular, i.e. gaming? If so, we might be able to make some recommendations

Out of the two, I'd take the Asus.

Thanks for your input. I did take the Asus and its good!
I should have mentioned that the laptop was meant for general use - web, office, watch movies, and occasional photo editing.
