New Install problem/crash (bue screen of death)

I have recently upgraded my hardware to a system with an Intel motherboard,
Intel dual core processor 2.6, 500Gig HD, 4Gig RAM, ATI 1950 256MB PCIe video
card. I am trying to install XP Pro (OEM version) with SP1. My copy is
about 4 years old. I did the full format of the HD and all the setup files
install fine, the system restarts and the Windows Setup screen begins to run
(39 mins remaining, etc.) at about 37mins remaining it says it's inspecting
hardware and then the dreded blue screen of death appears **Every time I
try, it happens at the spot** I have tried removing the video card (used the
on board video) and any other devices with no success. and Do I need to
purchase a newer version of XP (with SP2)? I don't want to use Vista because
I have programs and Printers etc. that don't work with it yet?? Thanks in
advance...

What is the message on the Blue Screen - at least the first line at the top?

Hi Joe,

Just a couple of things that may help:

Setup stops responding with 34 minutes remaining
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=828267 , and

Setup stops responding or displays an unrecoverable error message

Thanks, The message at the top is:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

The stop code is:
STOP : 0X0000000A (0X00000010, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0X80551AA58)

I don't know what that means or if that is the information you were looking
for.
Thanks again....

Have you tried installing with all devices disconnected except monitor and
mouse?
