New Install-Hard Drive Allegedly Has Virus

My office recently purchased several new hard drives; with appropriate
licenses for XP Pro (SP1) -- will upgrade when past this problem. I took the
new drives home and installed on a machine identical to the ones at the
office (22 new drives! but no network yet!) ALL the drives with ONE exception
booted beautifully upon installation in their new homes.

ONE, however (and it WOULD be the managing partner's machine) gave me the
blue screen of death -- Windows could not start, check your hard drive using
(I forget which) /f. NO problems reported. No viruii as no exposure.

I put this drive in another box, and it booted fine.

All the other machines have the same motherboard, ASUS ME-99, all flashed
successfully and all is well. THIS one is an ASUS P3B-F, and flashed
successfully. That and the processor speed is the only difference.

How can I get this machine with the ASUS P3B-F to work? (Let's don't talk
about how long it took to find the BIOS flash for either of them, ok?)

How about posting the full text of the blue screen of death Stop Error
message.

When you try to boot the computer try it with only the keyboard, mouse and
monitor connected.

Does it boot in Safe Mode?

Hope this helps.
