new install for anew hard desk

I want to make anew setup for windows xp in ane hard
drive can I install xp if the new hard drive dont have
anything on it or shall I install an old version of
windows then I install windows xp?

Is it an upgrade version of XP? Just do a clean install with the XP CD. If it is an
upgrade version, it will ask for your old version CD for verification and then do the
clean install.
