New harddrive new problems

I recently downloaded a new hard drive and placed it as the
master drive and my old drive as the slave drive. I
reinstalled windows onto the new hard drive and now i am
unable to access the user files that are on the old hard
drive under my old user account and old user password. Is
there any way to open these files or are they just lost?

One point.. you don't 'download' a new hard drive.. downloading is the
process where a user acquires files from a remote server, essentially..

Most likely, you purchased a hard drive and installed it as 'master'.. it is
important to try to use the correct terms.. misunderstandings are not
uncommon, and can lead to frayed tempers and hurt feelings..
